Ancient Egyptian Ankle or Arm Band For Kids

The Ancient Egyptian gods and goddess are shown with ankle bands or arm bands in assorted colors with simple designs. My daughter thought this was so cool and asked me to make her something like them.

Materials Needed:
Felt, two complimentary colors
Needle and thread or glue
Pattern

Below is how the basic pattern looks. It is not measurement correct.

To begin, measure the upper/lower arm or ankle of the child you are making this for (if doing this for a group of children, find the average measurement of the group). The length of the large rectangle is equal to the circumference of the child's ankle or arm. The large rectangle is 6 centimeters long.

The straps at each end of the large rectangle are 6 centimeters each.

After you have made the pattern, cut its likeness out of felt. Choose the design that you will glue or sew onto the large triangle. You can cut small triangles, squares, or rectangles to add onto the band as shown below.

(My daughter's one ankle band is already falling apart because I can't get her to take it off.)

Use the straps to tie the ankle or armband onto the child... Or big person.

These turned out pretty cool. I think I'll go regress and make a few for myself. :-)
